KING OF PANGEA – new musical theatre production

Posted in: ,

The show is semi-autobiographical and based on the loss of Martin Sorrow’s mom when he was 20 and how he dealt with her illness as a young child.  For much of his life, young Martin carried this grief in secret and found ways of coping through a world of imagination.

Though the theme of grief and loss is universal and understood by all who experience it, in Martin’s own words : “there is a realization that none of us are alone, and that in sharing the most vulnerable versions of ourselves, we invite connection, humour, healing and joy. It is about the power of hope in the face of death.

According to Nicole LaFountaine, in previous productions of the show, audience members who had suffered their own loss, were the ones who were left feeling the most profoundly uplifted and for this reason, they have a strong belief,  that art is meant to heal. The production seeks to reach as many people as possible, with the hope that the show will help them find the peace they look for after their own losses

The show is now OVER in London but will be performing elsewhere in US . We hope that it will return to the UK very soon.

I urge any person, having suffered loss, to go and enjoy this treasure!
